Access Levels and Controls
The
platform offers three standard levels of access working on a hierarchical
basis, the top level being controller cascading down to user/employee.
A brief overview of each of the standard levels is detailed below.
1. Controller. The site controller/s
are responsible for selecting and managing the content, handling
administrative issues and offering training help and advice. In
addition controllers can:
·
Create new content
· Edit existing content
· Produce activity reports
Controllers
have all of the functions of the other levels
2.
Manager.
(standard settings that are editable by the controller)
Managers have full user/employee access to the site (see below).
In addition they can:
· register new users/employees
· access the Personal Details of the users/employees they
register.
· access the development needs assessment forms for those
employees.
· access the user hit Reports that provide management reports
on how the site is being used by their users/employees.
· access the managers "training club" which will
put them in touch with extensive additional training search facilities
on the web and allow them to communicate with other members of that
club
3. Users/Employees. (standard settings
that are editable by the controller)
· Users have unlimited access to the library features of
the site
· They have unlimited access to all the e-briefings provided
and may register themselves at any time and for any of the e-briefings.
· They can receive a weekly Learning Statement that will
detail e-briefings of general interest and suggest specific e-briefings
relevant to their learning Priorities.
· They may use the Priorities section to customise your learning
Statements and view their personal Development Needs Assessment
Report if completed it with their Manager.
Although no further levels form part of the standard corporate package,
we recommend that you consider an Authors level. This level allows
third parties to create and test new content before it is authorised
and released by the controller. Suppliers, customers or other staff
can create and test content without compromising the integrity of
the system.
